"Man, talk a about a book series that hasn't aged well.

When I first read this series, when I was much younger, I remember loving it, thinking it was a funny and witty look at fantasy novels. Now, it grates on me. Our main character is rather annoying, and his companions aren't much better. The book really isn't funny; in fact, it's ridiculously repetitive, with conversations between the main character and his companion following the same cycle everytime. Much of the book's "humor" is derived from bad puns and silly names. Not very enjoyable."
