"Ohhh boy ! Get ready for some serious chills and thrills…easy, fast read…to me Swanson’s writing reminds me of Riley Sager or Shari Lapena (but shorter)…if you start reading, this book will grab your hand and take you into dark woods of pleasurable sins and you find yourself in the middle of a freakn nightmare 😳 …enjoy! "
"My first Peter Swanson novel. Not every male authors is able to portray a female voice, but Swanson made me feel like I was inside his main character's psyche- at times, she may have been more methodical and less emotional or even irrational than I think an honest to goodness female would have been, but then giving references to skills taught by her father prevented that detail from distracting me too far.
Ultimately, it was a fantastic read. The only thing that would have made it better is if the main character had been developed a little more fully before the dreaded mistake and subsequent consequences. Without this, the perspective of offended parties' responses felt borderline validated.
Also, I expected more from the main character's relationship with her bestie... though that may be a bit haphazard as often boundaries should be established in reality for some of us “emotional" beings. It's possible that the friend's intuition may not have had time to set off alarm bells."

"350 pages… this started off really promising but ended up being really weird. How many times can one person say the word punish before it seems really really weird? This book answers that. There was so much suspense and it was so crazy and then it just became rushed and dumb and I was pretty disappointed in the middle."
