"In one word, insufferable. The characters were absolutely ridiculously insufferable. I found the child's age (who's supposed to be 8) unrealistic, it felt like it was written from a much younger child's perspective. I'm not sure if I just have a higher tolerance for what I find scary, but I only found this book frustrating and not boring. "
"Listened to the audiobook. I wasn’t sure at first, but I ended up captivated. It had an unexpected depth of family relations and vulnerability that I wasn’t expecting. I toggled between 4/5 star rating. The fact that it’s been days since I finished and am still thinking about it, made up my mind. The ending left you with some “ food for thought”"
"Writing this review was difficult. I didn't love it, didn't hate it. The plot was just like any other horror film where everyone is doing and saying the wrong thing. Also, the audiobook made it much more creepy with the childlike voice. Unfortunately, while the ending was cool, it was also easy to spot from a mile away. I believe this would have translated better as a movie. Still, other mommy was scary enough to make me check the closet twice. "
"While this was a good book with an interesting POV, it doesn't live up to all the hype of scariest book ever. Since the POV is from a child it doesn't allow for that sophisticated writing style that helps to instill fear or dread. I both read the book then listened to the audiobook because I heard it was a great listen. The audiobook was definitely very good, but didn't make the book any scarier. "
"I listened to the audiobook and it’s mainly in the child perspective in a child’s voice and it’s a bit creepy. In a nutshell, Bella is 5? I think and she has an imaginary “other Mommy” who visits her. The visits got more frequent and the little girl was being pressured by her other mommy to give in to her.

Home life isn’t a typical happy home and you find out more as this story progresses. I wasn’t sure how the story would end, but it certainly was not what happened. I did find a lot of repetitive things happening so it made the story drag a bit. Overall, this was ok.
Ps… I am wicked ****** about the ending"
