"This is one of the most immersive fantasy books I’ve ever read. The world building is excellent and the high stakes are instantly established in the prologue. The band of misfit heroes are all 3 dimensional and uniquely singular. I loved the dynamics between Sorasa and Dom especially, though Corayne and Andry were also an intriguing pairing. Spoiler alert: I loved the plot twist of Erida becoming a villain and marrying Taristan. I did not see it coming. I cannot wait to read the next book. "
"The introduction was a bit confusing and it took me a friend to explain it for me to understand. However, the characters and plot are very fun and I love the multiple perspectives being used to break up parts that would otherwise be monotonous. Also the map was very well crafted and contributed to the masterful world building of the story. The ending felt a bit rushed, but I’ll let that slide since there’s a sequel anyways. Overall really good read and a solid 4/5"
"DNF at 25%

I won’t give a star rating to a book that I didn’t even read 75% of, but man, this book was giving nothing in the first quarter.
I went from being utterly confused to even more confused to lost uninterested the longer we went on. At the point where I stopped there was so much information and world building that had already been thrown at us that I hadn’t even begun to understand. We had seen at least five points of view, each with a different backstory and set of world building and I hadn’t begun to grasp any of it.

I really really wanted to like, or even finish this book but I just couldn’t read any longer feeling this lost lol.

Sorry Victoria !!"
