I read the last three chapters in one sitting just to be finished with it. It is a series, which I didn’t know when I bought it, and I hate series’s. I just want my story done and over. "

"I read this book over two sittings and IT WAS SO GOOD. I knew I was going to like it, but I really loved it. It's dark, suspenseful, gruesome, and just some damn good storytelling overall. <br/><br/>I am so impressed with Rachel Caine's ability to excel in multiple genres. I adore her Great Library series, but it's so different from this that I honestly couldn't tell it was the same author. She is incredibly talented. <br/><br/>I am so excited that this book will be a series. I really liked the characters and the setting. Gwen makes mistakes, but she is powerful and headstrong. I thought the killer was going to be someone different, and I still really like my idea, but the resolution is acceptable. I wish there would have been more information, but I assume that will come in the next book. I think this book could have been longer to give more depth to certain aspects. This book is really a 4.5⭐ for me because of how abrupt the ending is. I'm torn between 4 and 5 stars because I loved the book so much. <br/><br/>Stillhouse Lake has the same vibe as Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter. Pretty Girls was gorier, but I think if you enjoyed that book, you'll like Stillhouse Lake. I can't believe I have to wait until December for Killman Creek!"
