Look for The Bobiverse [Signed Limited Edition] on AmazonBob Johansson has just sold his software company and is looking forward to a life of leisure. There are places to go, books to read, and movies to watch. So it's a little unfair when he gets himself killed crossing the street.Bob wakes up a century later to find that corpsicles have been declared to be without rights, and he is now the property of the state. He has been uploaded into computer hardware and is slated to be the controlling AI in an interstellar probe looking for habitable planets. The stakes are high: no less than the first claim to entire worlds. If he declines the honor, he'll be switched off, and they'll try again with someone else. If he accepts, he becomes a prime target. There are at least three other countries trying to get their own probes launched first, and they play dirty. The safest place for Bob is in space, heading away from Earth at top speed. Or so he thinks. Because the universe is full of nasties, and trespassers make them mad - very mad.

"Dnf 60%

This story presented many unique scenarios that you wouldn't really think about if something like this were to happen. The author definitely thought outside the box. I was also surprised to find out that Brazil is on top in technological advancements in the America's as of right now. Which made the story seem a little more realistic after realizing that they were dominating earth.

I also liked Bob. He wasn't the brightest or the funniest guy I ever met but he was snarky in a good way. For me the story didn't go anywhere though. There were minimal details for why these things had to be done then Bob was set off into space pretty much at free range. The plot needed a stronger hook for me.

For someone seeing brand new planets and life for the first time there was an awful lack of detail and world building. And even though Bob was an introvert it was difficult to believe he could stay sane in lieu of losing his family and contact with any other person than himself. As much as I hate crowds we need human contact if not we lose it a little.

Ray Porter did a great narration. I think he brought the book up a level. This story had good bones without much structure if that makes sense. You pretty much just follow Bob around for years and years and there is no character development which leads me to believe he is not sentient."
"Very entertaining and humorous Sci-fi, can’t wait to read the next book in the series! "

"Crisp starry science fiction. Awesome subtle references (i.e. “Just another turtle”.) Though-provoking. Epic scope. Funny. "

"This was entertaining, but as weird as this sounds, I just don’t think I’m enough of a sci-fi nerd to fully appreciate the story. I’m fairly new to the genre, so I really prefer less technical descriptions and concepts, not to mention I only got about half the pop culture references. Still, I loved the personalities of the different Bobs, and it was a overall really fun book."

"I really enjoyed the first half but it got very complicated to keep track of all the Bob after the first generation and where they each were. The last half was defintely hard to follow and hard for me to enjoy. My husband really enjoyed this series so I thought I would give it a chance. I was also the one to suggest it to him so I should have at least given it a chance. I completed book 1 but it is definitely not my cup of tea."
