"I found this harrowing and painful, but beautiful. It reminds me of my childhood where all I wanted to do was live in the big Willow tree on our back yard. She was my wild friend who embraced me and let me see the world from beneath her branches. I was born as a wild child who raged against the world and the unfairness of things. Like Kya I was at home in nature until my body decided I was allergic to most of it. I mourned my loss as I watched this. I have not read the book, but I intend to. Recommended. "

"A good, but slow movie. It's worth a watch, if you can deal with how slow it is at times. Reminds me of the book To Kill A Mockingbird."

"Great adaptation! Very faithful to the book and Daisy Edgar Jones is fantastic as Kya! The cinematography is gorgeous and the overall film is so well done. Only thing I didn’t like is how the adapted the twist at the end. It’s done better in the book. Really awesome watch!"

"My kids loved this book and made me take them to see the movie the night it opened. I liked it. Reminded me of a cross between Nicholas Sparks and John Grisham. I’ve loved Daisy Edgar-Jones since I first saw her in the incredible Normal People. Sure this is sappy and kinda cheesy, but so am I. "

"Got conned into seeing this movie. Wow, what a painfully slow waste of 125 minutes. Flat. Boring. I've seen Lifetime Originals with less cheese. 1½⭐ (half star for the amount of wet denim)"

"10/10 🌟 Exactly the same as the book! I’m always disappointed when movies are based on a book since it looks nothing like it! I loved being able to feel the emotions (GREAT ACTING!) and the realism of heartbreak in her life as she got back up every time! It’s quite inspiring!"

"I didn’t know who killed her love interest until the end. I fully recommend this movie. I give it a 5/5"

"Wow! I was pleasantly surprised with how well they were able to stay true to the book. Of course, there were some adaptations for the purpose of the movie, but all in all, very well done in that department. While the book was very slow at the beginning, the movie was well paced. The actors and scenery were what I had invisioned for the most part, except for Kya; though, a movie adaptation will never be able to please everyone as far as that's concerned. Overall, I enjoyed this movie, especially the ending, and I think it does the book justice."
