"This high concept sci-fi series initially looked like it would be right up my alley, and I was intrigued at first. The virtual reality sequences were stunning and mysterious. But about halfway through the series we find out that there is an alien race that has contacted mankind and an invasion of earth is imminent... in about 400 years. Now maybe I'm missing something but that kind of takes the urgency out of the situation. That's when I pretty much checked out on this one, even though I did finish the season, hoping that it would redeem itself... but it doesn't. It just leaves too many questions, with characters that are mostly uninteresting, without any meaningful end in sight. Maybe the producers are playing the long game, just like Game of Thrones, but this series doesn't have enough colorful characters to keep me interested like GOT did. I don't plan on continuing with season 2. 4/10"

"I was ready to give up after one episode. One of my pet peeves is watching something and having no idea what’s going on, in this case til episode 4. But I went back after seeing the Likewise post, and finding out it’s from the GOT guys, and binged it straight. It was awesome. Hard sci-fi, exciting, super well written, several great plot lines and a great cast, including the dead pan, hilarious performance of Benedict Wong. Can wait for more. "

"Sci-fi has never been my favorite genre but this I really enjoyed. The show has a shift between the first and second half - it starts off ominous and mysterious, then drops that entirely and whatever was beneath that vibe is whats left, and it's not ultra exciting in comparison. For me, it's definitely still enjoyable, cause I wanna know how these people handle the situation, which direction does their morale take them, and will they be successful? Not all that gets answered though, since there's more season(s?) to come. One thing I'd like to add, which I may be wrong about this interpretation but food for thought I guess, I very much got the impression that a few of these scientists are blinded by their own intelligence and so underestimate everyone else's which leads to them committing such stupid (but very serious) mistakes. Hate those kinda people. 9/10📡〰️☀️"

"My favorite new show of 2024 so far! It’s been a while since I’ve seen a series that explores giant existential themes like this and I am so here for it. The ending left me wanting more so I’m hoping we’ll get a season 2. Would’ve given it 5 stars if it wasn’t for some rough CGI in a few places."
