What happens when my brother's rival becomes my secret crush? Noah Slade is a Formula 1 legend in the making. Focused. Unapproachable. Ruthless on and off the track. A man with walls higher than the Grand Canyon. And my brother's new teammate. I want more of the prince who disguises himself as the villain. But while I crave a happy ending, he wants to destroy his. Maya Alatorre is a forbidden temptation. An ambitious post-grad I should stay far away from. And chaos wrapped with a bow. We're a ticking time bomb, about one wrong move away from exploding. I want to trip the wire, detonating together in passion and pain. Because in the end, all's fair in lust and war.

"3/5 ⭐️ dual pov and available on KU. When I started this book I sort of forgot I don’t love Lauren Asher’s writing. I find her books very surface level. Character development is always superficial. She does a lot of telling and not as much showing so I don’t end up as connected to the story. Like in this one it talks about how the mmc goes to therapy and cries but doesn’t really go into any details. Also with such an awesome setting traveling for F1 I wanted so muck more from the story! It wasn’t bad but it won’t be on any recommendation lists of mine. 2.5/5 spice. It’s a slow burn and basically nothing happens in this book spice or plot wise until after the 50% mark. "
"I love this story; I mean the grumpy sunshine trope, brother’s teammate/rival trope, found family, beautiful locations, F1 in itself, etc. are all just amazing. I love both Maya and Noah, but also, all of the side characters are so pivotal in their story and character development. Also, the shoutout to therapy did not go unnoticed. I am really excited to read the rest of this series!"

"It took me a lot longer to finish this book then I would've liked. No matter how many times I picked it up I just couldn't get through it until I decided to get the audiobook. I really enjoyed the overall plot but the writing felt a bit awkward especially some of the dialogue. I know this was the authors debut novel so I will chalk it up to that. I am planning on reading the rest of the series since I am really excited to learn more about Jax."
