An io9 Can't Miss Science Fiction and Fantasy title in March 2014. Martin Banks is just a normal guy who has made an abnormal discovery: he can manipulate reality, thanks to reality being nothing more than a computer program. With every use of this ability, though, Martin finds his little "tweaks" have not escaped notice. Rather than face prosecution, he decides instead to travel back in time to the Middle Ages and pose as a wizard. What could possibly go wrong? An American hacker in King Arthur's court, Martin must now train to become a full-fledged master of his powers, discover the truth behind the ancient wizard Merlin...and not, y'know, die or anything.

"Just finished this one! It’s suitably light-hearted and had me laughing out loud many times while reading it. The situations and scenarios that Martin gets into are hilarious and combined the perfect mix of nerd culture and fantasy wizardry. "

"A quick and easy read. Quite funny and full of whimsy."

"It's a fun read and pretty humorous at times. It reminded me a lot of reading Mr Penumbra and The Martian in that they use very modern and casual dialogue and brand references throughout the story. Sometimes it can seem a bit TOO casual, but I am sure that twenty years from now it will be an even better read as it's so representative of our slang and humor today. I did find it frustrating not to think of how things like time-travellers making unlimited amounts of gold hundreds of years ago would affect inflation, colonization, and other things like that, but it was still fun."
