The Woman in the Yard

"A woman dealing with the recent death of her husband in a car accident is living with her 2 children on a small farm out in the sticks. She is clearly having a hard time emotionally and it is damaging her relationship with the kids...especially her son. A woman shows up all dressed in black with a vale sitting in a chair in their yard. She asks what she wants and she seems to know a lot more about them than she should. When asked to leave she tells her today is the day. What does she want? The set-up sounds pretty interesting, and it is. The movie addresses depression, loss and mental illness. There is this really cool part in the 3rd act that reveals exactly who this woman is and what she represents. However, it is a bit of a slow burn and I don’t think they pay it off all the way. It takes a long time to get going and when it does it gets confusing. I really wish they would have gone a different direction with the ending. It was not satisfying and didn’t feel like it fit the tone. I’m 50/50 on this one but wait for it to stream.
