To Catch a Killer

"Interesting premise and rather philosophical about gun violence in America and the people who perpetuate it and investigate it. Told from the cop’s perspective, a young female beat cop is given a break due to her insight and quick witted action. I liked the depiction of the politization of the investigation and the actions taken by the lead to accommodate what he knows are wrong leads. "

"I love Shailene Woodley but this was a bit nonsensical and all over the place imo and I really wanted to like this because of her. It’s definitely not predictable, which I guess is good thing, unless you factor in the incompetence and selfishness of cops and bureaucrats, which is actually quite predictable and there’s plenty of that in this film. There are quite a few character decisions that don’t make sense and the story at times feels slapped together. I feel bad that she actually had a hand in producing this because this didn’t look or feel like a good fit for her at all. Mendelsohn as usual was pretty good but this didn’t make him look good either. "
