I just got a new bookshelf and don’t know how to organize my books on it. Please let me know how to organize it. I own a lot of fantasy, and a bit of romance, dystopian, sci-fi, mystery/thriller, and a little bit of general fiction/literary fiction. The most I own if fantasy. That’s mainly all I read. You can look at my list called books I own but haven’t read to see some of what I would be putting on the shelf. Picture of the shelf below.

Ophylia St. Grey I do everything alphabetically by author, then alphabetically by title within that author's material.

Ophylia St. Grey Or you can do each shelf dedicated to a specific genre. And then if you have extras they could go across the top.

Julz Thanks for the ideas. On my other shelf I have them sorted by genres then authors.

Max Edge I like separating books by genre. Then I like having all the same books by the same author together, in publication and series order

Alyssa There is always rainbow or just by color. Some people absolutely detest this way of organization because it can separate books in a series, but it can look pretty cool if you have lots of different colors
