This book passed me off so much, I haven't felt anger this visceral since working at a casino. The main character's brother is such a self centered jerk that I got an ulcer listening to his antics. Her mother's an idiot. Also, the book devolved into crazy nonsense.

Looking for a campy (pun intended) read to enjoy over these quiet, end-of-year days? Take it from @librarianleah92 and consider BURY YOUR GAYS: "Wow. I guess I'm a Tingler now?... The social commentary, the horror, the meta-ness, the character development... I loved it all so much."

Cute fantasy from the author of “The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels” comes a fun cozy romantasy soft the fans of “Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Fairies” and “Around the World in 80 days.” This book follows two rival ornithologist, Devon and Beth, who are racing against the clock to find a rare magical bird in order to secure a tenure position. This book is full of magical birds, rivals to lovers, and adorable writing.
Topic: Four Weekends and a Funeral
I haven’t been able to find a book to warm my cold, black heart in a while, but this one is good! I think if you enjoy “Beach Read” and “Get a life, Chloe Brown,” you’ll enjoy this book. It follows Alison that hears her ex boyfriend has sadly passed away, while at the funeral she learns that he never told his family that they broke up. Trying to save face, she allows them to think they were still together, and worse, tries to help them pack up his apartment…with his grumpy best friend.
Topic: Salt to the Sea
So I just finished Salt to the Sea and oh my gosh. 😩😭 I don’t know how a story can be so devastating and so beautiful at the same time. I have now read all of Ruta’s books! If you’re a Ruta fan, how would you rank her books? Which is your favorite out of the ones you’ve read?
Topic: Stalking Jack the Ripper
Does this book get more interesting or is it just describing autopsies continuously? I’m not squeamish usually but this is kinda grossing me out. I was hoping for mystery, action, and maybe some romance… but all I’ve got so far 50 pages in is lots of blood and descriptions of cutting people open. Just want to know if it’s worth continuing through or if I should stop now?
Topic: Caraval
I really want to read the Caraval series by Stephanie Garber but based on the back of the book it just doesn’t look exciting. The thing is I know that can’t be true since so many people love it. Can someone spoil it for me? Nothing too big, not enough to ruin the book, just enough to make me read it. Thanks!
